Our institutional building efforts are crucial to realizing our vision of comprehensive prosperity

The Prosperity Party is one of the key institutions that emerged following the national reform. It is the first national institution in Ethiopia’s multi party history to be established as a unified, cohesive entity that truly reflects the country. The party has introduced new ideas, systems, and strategies to address long standing human and structural challenges. Significant efforts have been made to implement these strategies so they benefit the public, and these efforts have produced notable, wide ranging achievements both nationally and internationally.

The party has successfully introduced and implemented the concept of Medemer (synergy) and has developed a broad plan to ensure its practical realization. This plan is designed with long term vision and built on a strong, reliable foundation. Accordingly, for the first time in the history of political parties in the country, a 10 year plan has been developed to guide activities through planning and measure them by results.

As part of this long term plan, the current year’s agenda has focused on moving from results to standardization. Since this year is also an election year marking democratic progress, special emphasis has been placed on executing processes and activities at a higher standard. Recognizing that the work carried out this year by both the party and the government will shape the next five years, efforts have been implemented with particular focus, competence, and coordination.

Based on this, the party conducted a nine month performance review. During this evaluation, ongoing conditions were taken into account, and planned activities were thoroughly assessed. The review found that the party’s performance over the nine months met and even exceeded the planned targets.

The evaluation demonstrated the party’s strong institutional capacity. It also confirmed that beyond its indispensable role in the development of Ethiopia’s multi party system, the party has created strong hope for realizing comprehensive prosperity. The party’s current institutional strength sends a clear message both nationally and internationally that inclusive and collective values are essential foundations for advancing and developing a country.

Furthermore, if national institutions are organized in a way that reflects Ethiopia’s realities, enriched with strong ideas and effective systems, and centered on serving the people, they can create a reliable path toward achieving the comprehensive transformation we aspire to.

Institutional capacity is the foundation of nation building.
