Ethiopia’s Peaceful Election Continues to Earn International Recognition
Ethiopia has successfully concluded the voting stage of its 7th General Election, marking an important milestone in the country's democratic journey. Conducted peacefully and with broad public participation, the election has continued to attract positive recognition from international partners and observers.
The European Union member states based in Addis Ababa, together with the Embassies of Canada, Norway, and Switzerland, have commended the conduct of Ethiopia's 7th General Election. In a joint statement, they congratulated the National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) and recognized the contributions of election officials, political parties, candidates, and civil society organizations whose efforts helped ensure the successful completion of the electoral process.
In addition, the British Embassy in Addis Ababa congratulated NEBE on the completion of the voting stage and praised the efforts of election officials, observers, volunteers, and candidates who contributed to the election process.
International partners have also acknowledged the valuable role played by observer missions from the African Union (AU) and the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), highlighting the importance of transparency, cooperation, and stakeholder engagement throughout the election.
