The 7th National Election is a historic event where Ethiopia's role as an African exemplar will be built on a solid foundation.

The significance of an election for a country extends from establishing a legitimate government to effective nation-building. A hallmark of effective nation-building is becoming a model for other nations. It is no exaggeration to say that Ethiopia has historically been an exemplary country. Being the cradle of humankind, a pioneer of African civilization, holding a prominent place in the history of modern state-building and serving as a beacon of sovereignty and freedom are key manifestations of its exemplary status.

However, there have been issues that marred this national prestige. These include the failure to ensure food sovereignty, the inability to break free from universal poverty, and the lack of a developed democratic culture. In response, the national reform movement has identified the obstacles to Ethiopia’s African leadership and is providing answers by asking the right questions through the right methods.

Accordingly, strategic planning has been underway to elevate Ethiopia back to its status as an African model. One of these efforts aims to rectify the flaws observed in our democratic culture. Significant efforts have been made to improve our electoral system to a meaningful level, supporting inclusivity and free elections through both law and institutions, resulting in numerous achievements thus far.

The 7th National Election is a critical milestone in this success. Consequently, strategic preparations have been finalized, and regular activities are currently progressing according to schedule. In this election, our Medemer (synergy) state, led by the Prosperity Party, has set twin goals: making the election fair, inclusive, free, and democratic, and completing the election with a victory.

These twin goals serve as a springboard to elevate Ethiopia to its status as an African exemplar. Therefore, we call upon all citizens to support this great objective which reflects Ethiopia's true history and potential and to strive for its success. Let us contribute our part by actively participating in the electoral process to ensure the achievement of the election's goals and its overarching mission.
