The public's right to sovereign power is realized only when one can vote by obtaining a voter card on time.

Democracy is a system through which people directly or indirectly elect the political association they believe serves them best. In a democratic system, the people are the owners of power. According to Article 8 of the FDRE Constitution, it is stipulated that the people are the ultimate sovereign owners of power. Authority is a great national responsibility attained only through elections and the consent of the people. For the success of an election, the active participation of the public is a key factor.

The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) has announced that voter registration for the ongoing and increasingly gaining momentum 7th General Election will take place from February 28 to March 28, 2018 E.C. The Election Board has provided three options for voter registration: via the "Mirchaye" app, the Board's website, or by appearing in person at a polling station.

In a statement released a few days ago, the National Election Board of Ethiopia noted that using these options, more than 9 million Ethiopians came out in mass during the first few days alone to take their voter cards to elect the representatives they believe are best for them. Many others are currently in the process of obtaining theirs. Our party, Prosperity, is encouraging its vast membership, supporters, and the entire public to use their preferred registration method and obtain their voter cards within the set deadline.

The public can exercise its right to sovereignty only by registering as voters, keeping the voter card safely, and casting a vote for the party of their choice on Election Day. Therefore, we call upon every Ethiopian who meets the basic requirements for voting to exercise their constitutional right and contribute their civic duty to the movement of strengthening a popular and legal government in our country.
